Of like minds

For the life of me I ‘ll never figure men out.

If anyone knows or has heard of the book:  Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, will totally get where I am coming from.

Like it or not ladies, men and women have very distinctive communication styles.  When I was in college I took a marriage and family class.  It was brought to my naive attention that men tend to think in a linear pattern whiles as women approach subjects and their thought processes in a circular pattern.   (Probably why men become frustrated with our approach) and men tend to want to get to the point. And when you mix emotions into the equation…forget it. Typically men will tune you out.

So, it behooves us (men and women) to learn about each other’s communication styles.  And trust me,  when you find yourself in an argument, being overtly emotionally does not work and never, and I mean never use your tears as a weapon because one of these days crying wolf will simply get you nowhere.  In the end we must remember to work together (not against) in order to keep the relationship running smoothly.  A constant battle of wills will only bring resentment, mistrust, and maybe even the demise of the relationship.
“When a man can listen to a woman’s feelings without getting angry and frustrated, he gives her a wonderful gift.
He makes it safe for her to express herself.
The more she is able to express herself, the more she feels heard and understood, and the more she is able to give a man the loving trust, acceptance, appreciation, admiration, approval, and encouragement that he needs.”
