Father’s Day for Single Mothers

Sometimes, those of us single mothers whose children’s fathers play no part in their kid’s lives father’s day can be especially hard.  Not so much for me but for the child.  It’s difficult when they are small and Father’s Day rolls around and they have no one to celebrate it with.  For me we had my dad and I always told my daughter I was her father also since I played both roles.

Sometimes women become single mothers by choice, often times not.  But irregardless of how we got the role, children are such a wonderful blessing.  As a single mother of a 22 year old whirlwind I feel blessed for having her in my life.  The best thing I can say about today is that I am grateful I was given the opportunity to become a mother and love how much my child has changed my life.
